iLead21 is embedded into the day-to-day curriculum of the school. It is infused in all elements of the school experience as the foundation of the learning/school journey. It is not taught as a stand alone course but rather an experience that is embedded in all aspects of school life and causes students to make the connection of their learning to relevant real-world application through a highly collaborative model. Students are placed in authentic leadership roles and develop life skills by applying the iLead21 cycle to their learning journey. Students create a company and learn and implement the five iLead21 driving principles along with the iLead21 process. Students learn to operate as high functioning teams to have a positive impact on their school, community and beyond. Throughout the program the instructor/teacher operates as the iLead21 coach rather than the deliver of content. The coach is on the sidelines supporting the students as they navigate the process.
iLead21 has spread organically. When exposed to the program and concepts educators see the value added for their students. Basically the program has spread through word of mouth. One school or youth servicing organization talks to others and it grows from there.
