Helsinki's First Ever Education Week To Take Place In November 2018

We are excited to announce that the first ever Helsinki Education Week is set to hit the capital this November.

We are thrilled to announce the first ever Helsinki Education Week, set to hit the city this November.

It's an exciting moment for the capital, as the City of Helsinki and its Education Department, along with partners HundrED and Finnish newspaper Helsingin Sanomat, are gearing up for the week-long celebrations beginning November 5th.

This unique week invites education experts from around the world to join the teachers, pupils, and parents of Helsinki for a celebration of all things education, hosted in the hub of one of the world’s most talked about education systems.

And it couldn't come at a better time. Education innovators from around the globe will be in the city to attend HundrED’s annual Innovation Summit on November 7th-9th, making Helsinki Education Week the perfect opportunity for cross-cultural learning and collaboration.

The theme of the week is excellence and equity in education, two core values in the Finnish education system. In the spirit of the theme, anyone interested in the future of teaching and learning can organize or participate in a range of fascinating education events both big and small, many of which will be free of charge.

The full Helsinki Education Week program will be announced shortly and will feature a variety of workshops organized by teachers and students, discussion sessions based on a variety of teacher and student needs, networking events with a focus on co-learning and co-creation, and access to various educational innovations and learning environments in the city.

Any stakeholder or education enthusiast, local or international, can suggest an event idea on the Helsinki Education Week 2018 website. Proposal registrations are open until October 5th, 2018, so be sure to submit your idea soon.

Look out for the first version of the Helsinki Education Week program, set to be released mid-October.
