Digital transformation at Swiss schools to be shared through the HundrED Spotlight

Call for digital transformation good practices is open through July 5th 2019; the most convincing solutions will be announced at the Campus Seminar Zurich in October and promoted globally through HundrED.

HundrED announces its Spotlight on Digital Transformation in Switzerland in partnership with We Are Play Lab Foundation, Gebert Rüf Stiftung, Jacobs Foundation, Stiftung Mercator Schweiz, digitalswitzerland - next generation and the Zurich University of Teacher Education.

With a reputation of an education, science and technology pioneer and a strong national agenda focusing on digital transformation, Switzerland is uniquely positioned to be a global centre of digital education innovation, not only in higher education but already from early childhood.

“All over the world schools are implementing digital aspects to the learning process. However, transforming the education system is a long-lasting effort, which calls for pedagogical expertise and collaboration over the school yards and organizational barriers. We are thrilled to collaborate with Swiss foundations and education innovators to help every child  flourish,” states Lasse Leponiemi, Executive Director of HundrED.

Organized together with local partners, HundrED Spotlights are curated collections of ten education innovations offering insights into a specific area of education.

Spotlight Switzerland focuses on digital transformation at school, highlighting emerging good practice from kindergarten up to the secondary level.

“The HundrED Spotlight will shed light on Swiss education changemakers who are embracing digital transformation in the classroom and are dedicated to engaging their students in meaningful, pedagogically sound learning experiences. These emerging good practices deserve to be highlighted and shared with the world.” says Cristina Riesen, Spotlight Switzerland Project Lead and Founder of We Are Play Lab Foundation.

All Swiss-based educators from kindergarten, primary and secondary schools are invited to share their projects of digital transformation at school by July 5th 2019. The ten most convincing good practices selected by an expert jury will receive grants summing up to CHF 120'000. These projects will be announced at the Campus Seminar in Zurich on October 30th 2019 and at the HundrED Innovations Summit in Helsinki on November 6th - 8th 2019.
